Passenger jet QUARANTINED after woman returning from Africa trip breaks out in rash amid fears she had MONKEYPOX

A woman returning home from Africa caused a monkeypox scare aboard her flight after she broke out in a rash, sparking a massive quarantine among the passengers.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention later said there was no threat, and normal operations have since resumed at Midway International Airport.

Lise Sievers told NBC Chicago that she was on her way home from Uganda, and bug bites caused her to break out in a rash.

All passengers aboard the Delta flight were quarantined for about three hours until the all-clear was signaled.

Outrage as Egypt plans 'farewell intercourse law' so husbands can have sex with DEAD wives up to six hours after their death

Egyptian husbands will soon be legally allowed to have sex with their dead wives - for up to six hours after their death.

The controversial new law is part of a raft of measures being introduced by the Islamist-dominated parliament. It will also see the minimum age of marriage lowered to 14 and the ridding of women's rights of getting education and employment.


Egypt's National Council for Women is campaigning against the changes, saying that 'marginalising and undermining the status of women would negatively affect the country's human development'.

Dr Mervat al-Talawi, head of the NCW, wrote to the Egyptian People’s Assembly Speaker Dr Saad al-Katatni addressing her concerns.

Egyptian journalist Amro Abdul Samea reported in the al-Ahram newspaper that Talawi complained about the legislations which are being introduced under 'alleged religious interpretations'. The subject of a husband having sex with his dead wife arose in May 2011 when Moroccan cleric Zamzami Abdul Bari said marriage remains valid even after death.

He also said that women have the right to have sex with her dead husband, alarabiya.net reported.

Wiz Khalifa Busted for Weed... at a Holiday Inn

"Black and Yellow" rapper Wiz Khalifa tried to hide a bag of weed in his room at a Holiday Inn in Nashville ... this according to law enforcement. According to the police report, obtained by TMZ, Metro Nashville Police responded to Wiz's room on April 21 after someone complained about a strong odor of marijuana.

When officers arrived to the scene, Wiz -- real name Cameron Jibril Thomaz -- allegedly tossed a "marijuana cigarette" out of the window. Cops say the recovered the item ... saying, "inside the rolling paper was a green leafy substance consistent with marijuana."

According to the report, Wiz eventually admitted the joint was his and said he had 3.7 grams of weed in his pocket. Wiz -- who's VERY open about his marijuana use -- was hit with a citation ... and probably smoked more weed after the officers left

A black surgical mask that Michael Jackson allegedly wore the night before he died in 2009 has hit the auction block -- and the bids have already surpassed $20,000.

According to the auction house -- Nate D. Sanders Auctions -- MJ wore the mask (above) while rehearsing for his "This Is It" concert tour on June 24th, 2009 ... the singer's last ever rehearsal.

The auction house claims the mask -- made of silk fabric, personally designed by the King of Pop -- contains visible traces of MJ's stage make-up along with a strand of his black hair.

One of MJ's former bodyguards was in possession of the mask, and swears by its authenticity. MJ famously wore surgical masks outdoors as a form of disguise.

The auction ends April 30th -- and bidding has already reached $21,190. The auction house estimates the mask will sell for $50,000-$150,000

For the first time in nearly a decade, TLC will be reuniting for a U.S. concert tour later this year -- and TMZ has learned, the late Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes will be making a special appearance.

The group's rep tells us, Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins and Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas are currently in the planning stages of a massive 2012 reunion tour in the U.S.

So far, we're told 5 major cities have already been booked -- and even more are in the works.

But the big surprise ... we're told the group plans to pull a Tupac -- incorporating their deceased former member Left Eye in the shows, projecting her image on a big screen and working her vocals into the live performances.

A teenager who was declared brain dead by four doctors made a ‘miracle’ recovery after his parents begged medics for a second opinion - moments before his life support was to be switched off.

Doctors described Steven Thorpe as 'truly a unique case' after he awoke from a two-week coma following a multiple car crash that left him needing a machine to stay alive.

Steven was 17 years old when he suffered horrific injuries after the smash which left another man dead.

He was placed in a chemically-induced coma and doctors said he would never recover - they even asked his devastated parents to consider donating his organs.

But Steven’s father begged doctors to reconsider and even enlisted private GP Julia Piper to examine him again after being convinced that their son could recover.

Doctors at University Hospital in Coventry, West Midlands, agreed to let a neurologist re-examine him and, astonishingly, he detected faint brain waves indicating Steven had a slim chance of making a recovery.

NHS chiefs agreed to bring Steven out of his coma to see if he could survive on his own and he stunned medics by making an almost full recovery.

Incredibly, just five weeks later Steven was discharged from hospital.

Diplomatic row looms as govt moves to bar airlines

THE next couple of days may determine the fate of thousands of travellers on the lucrative Nigeria-London route as the Federal Government has maintained that it will go ahead to suspend British carriers from operating in Nigeria.

British Airways (BA) and Virgin Atlantic Airways may be stopped on April 25 from flying to Nigeria over high fares charged passengers on business and first classes.
The crisis could be serious because the United Kingdom (UK) and many parts of Europe are close to summer, a period where global traffic is expected to be on the rise.

The airlines are the first choice among premium travellers from Nigeria and together, they control about 90 per cent of traffic to London. The Minister of Aviation, Stella Oduah-Ogiewonyi, had few weeks ago given a 30-day ultimatum to foreign airlines, especially BA and Virgin Atlantic, to reduce their fares on Nigerian route or face ban. The 30-day ultimatum expires on April 25.

The spokesman to the Minister of Aviation, Toyin Opaise, told The Guardian at the weekend that “there is no shift in our position. All foreign airlines have been told to pay for excess billings. Prices must come down.” Already, the British authorities had also warned of retaliating by evoking the principle of reciprocity should Nigeria go ahead to stop its airlines from operating in the country.
