We all know the dangers of too much salt, fat and calories in our diet, but
health professionals warn that not enough of us stop to consider our sugar
intake. There are obvious sources of it — such as soft drinks consumed in
large quantities at the weekend. But the problem, experts say, is that our
everyday diets are packed with ‘stealth’ sugar, sending our intake far above the
recommended limits and placing us at risk of a range of diseases, including
diabetes and heart disease.
